Mediahuis resolutely embraces green travel

They urge people to avoid travel, and if it's necessary, to make it sustainable and greener. Mediahuis is focusing on sustainable mobility more than ever, with hybrid working and tailor-made mobility solutions being important pillars.

Mediahuis Sandra Eemans

Mediahuis reaches a very wide audience, with brands such as Het Nieuwsblad, De Standaard, Gazet van Antwerpen, Het Belang van Limburg, TV Limburg, and ATV...

Sustainability program IMPACT

Mediahuis' social commitment takes shape within its sustainability program IMPACT, which focuses on three areas: independent quality journalism, room for talent, and green transition. By linking these elements to financially sound operations, Mediahuis aims to ensure a successful and sustainable future.

Flex plan alternative remuneration

"Mediahuis' flex plan is an alternative remuneration system that allows employees to compose part of their salary themselves," explains Sandra. "The idea is to respond to individual needs better. For the moment, 200 employees have already invested in a leased bicycle. We're quite proud of that!"

Working remotely allows trips to be avoided. "This is always done in consultation with the manager," says Sandra. "The extent to which remote work is possible varies by function and department." Each remote worker receives a screen, mouse, and keyboard and can buy additional desk equipment at very affordable prices through the flex plan. On top of this comes a home working allowance of EUR 5 per day. "People-centred hybrid working is at the heart of what we do," she adds.
